A few words from Kinsey Barnard:

My work is my passion.

Two figures have had a profound impact on my life and my photography, Henry David Thoreau and Monet.

Thoreau inspired me to live alone in the wilds of Montana in order to gain a greater insight into the natural world and its incredible wonders. Experiencing nature without distraction has been the greatest adventure and gift of my life. I continue to spend as much time as possible in the wild with only my dog and my camera.

Monet inspired me as an artist. His colors and impressionistic style motivated me to seek my own form of expression. For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a painter but I had not one ounce of talent. Then I discovered the camera and found my voice. The camera is my canvass, my imagination the brush. “Painting with a camera” is not a phrase unique to me but this is precisely my mission. To be the painter I always wanted to be, using the camera as my medium.

In my explorations of the wild I find such incredible beauty it nearly breaks my heart. My goal is to share these uniquely beautiful moments and to elicit in the viewer the same exquisite emotions I feel when “painting” them.
